Doc2Us 2020 Health tip!
We just stepped into a new year and not just any other new year but a new DECADE! And if you are a Malaysian, I am sure you know of Wawasan 2020! This is the year that we dreamed of, being a country that is modern, progressive and a world changer in many ways. Not just our country, but as an individual we had dreams and goals that we want to achieve that seemed so far off when we were younger. Well, today you woke up to the dawn of that year.
I am sure you have drafted out your resolutions and planned out how you want to achieve it. And we are here to cheer you on, it might not be easy but it is super doable. We hope that this year will be one of great achievements in all aspects of your life - be it your health, finances, family and career. So, below are our 8 carefully picked out Health tips that are not too heavy or hard for you this year!
-
Maintain a healthy weight
Eat moderately and exercise. We know that losing weight is hard. But the goal is not for the sake of losing weight, it is for a healthier you. If your weight is within a healthy Body Mass Index (BMI), then maintain it well. If you do not have time to slot an exercise session in, then use your in-between times. Instead of using the lift, walk up the stairs. Instead of strolling around the office, walk at a quick pace. Everything can be a form of exercise, even doing house chores!
-
Get enough sleep
Sleep is undeniably a need. No human can function without sleep. It is a form of rest where your body recharges after a day’s work. No matter how busy you are or what a workaholic you are, get that 6 hours of sleep daily. Your body will thank you in years to come.
-
Manage stress
The demands of the 21st century are high. Although technology has made our lives easier in many ways, it has also made it harder in some ways. Connectivity has made it easier for your job to disrupt your life outside of your working hours. Learning to manage stress and deal with the demands is challenging but needful in order to keep your sanity and establish healthy relationships with your colleagues, bosses and most importantly, your family.
-
Stay in touch
Human relationships at the end of the day are what matters. You have heard the story of people on their deathbed not wanting anything else but their family by their side. In the busyness of life, don’t forget to stay in touch. Celebrate each other, spend time with each other and make memories with your family and friends. It will be these moments that you cherish at the end of the day.
-
Volunteer or give back
If i may challenge you, this year you volunteer or give back to society. It does not have to be something big or expensive. It may be volunteering in your neighbourhood, religious groups or a home. If you do not have time to spare, there are other means such as sponsoring a child or donating to a good cause. It is the little things that make a difference. Imagine every person doing something small, it will be a big impact in this world. So, let’s do this!
-
Grow your finances
Wondering why is finances a health tip? Well, it might not matter at the end of your life, but it matters now when you are here. There is no way we can do anything in this list if we do not have the finances for it. Not being financially stable is a constant stress that can take a toll on your mental health, throw you of course on all your goals as this will be your primary worry day in and day out. Therefore, read up and move towards being financially stable and then grow it accordingly.
-
Keep learning
There is a saying that goes, the moment you stop learning you die. And I think that is true, the world is changing very rapidly and we need to keep up. Not just that, but we need to continue growing as a human being. There are so many things to learn and countless skills to pick up. Recently, I heard that a skill you learn today will be obsolete in 5 years (not sure how true it is. However, decades ago a skill set can last you 30 years before it becomes obsolete). All the more the need to learn something new and keep up in this time and age.
-
Quit smoking
Last but not least, if you are currently struggling to quit smoking, don’t give up! Keep trying and attempting. Live well and long for yourself and your family. You would not want to be dragged down by a health issue nor be a burden to your family in future.
So, this is it. Our 8 health tip for you this year. Our final tip would be: focus on one thing each month so that you will not be overwhelmed by the amount of things you need or want to do.
Cheers to an Amazing 2020!
