Homegrown DOC2US launches RTKis for Covid-19
DOC2US chief executive officer Dr Raymond Choy said the company chose to kick start our RTKis with Gmate’s home test kit as it is credible with 91 per cent sensitivity accredited by the Institute for Medical Research, Malaysia, non-invasive, so easy to use that users can perform the test in the safety of their homes, and no on-site doctor is needed to carry out the tests.
KUALA LUMPUR: DOC2US, the first telemedicine provider in Malaysia today, announced the launch of a rapid test kit intelligent system for Covid-19 or RTKis, its proprietary system to test, record, manage and report Covid-19 cases for corporates and the public.
RTKis provides a cost-effective, credible, and convenient means to comply with the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) guidelines for economic sectors allowed to operate under Phase 2 of the National Recovery Plan.
RTKis is a comprehensive solution that consists of a medical device authority (MDA) approved home use RTK antigen test kit that allows users to conduct Covid-19 self-testing at home.
With their identity verification and test process validation, as well as test result validation using artificial intelligence (AI) on the DOC2US RTKis platform, a positive result will then be uploaded to the Public Health Laboratory Information System (SIMKA), which is synchronized with the MySejehtera app.
DOC2US chief executive officer Dr Raymond Choy said the MITI guidelines require employees to be screened for Covid-19 twice before the resumption of work and twice per week thereafter.
"With most businesses suffering the loss of revenue due to the lockdowns, it is critical to provide a credible solution that is convenient and economical, thus enables allowed sectors to resume their activities while complying with the MITI guidelines," he said in a statement today.
While the RTKis comprises the imperative component of a home testing kit that does not require a healthcare professional to administer, DOC2US deploys AI to minimize fraud associated with any self-declaration.
DOC2US chief technology officer and Agmo Studio Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Tan Aik-Keong, who developed the backend system, said the solution is comprehensive in design. It allows little to no room for fraud as users access the DOC2US RTKis platform via QR codes unique to each RTK antigen test kit sold under our package.
"Users will also need to verify their phone number, identification card and validate their test process via photo taking and video recording.
"Our AI-powered system uses image classification engine with machine learning to identify the test result based on the uploaded test kit photo," he said.
Currently, the RTKis works with Gmate Saliva Antigen Test Kit imported exclusively by CityMedics.
"We chose to kick start our RTKis with Gmate's home test kit as it is credible with 91 per cent sensitivity accredited by the Institute for Medical Research, Malaysia, non-invasive, so easy to use that user can perform the test in the safety of their homes, and no on-site doctor is needed to carry out the tests.
"Nevertheless, our system is designed to work with other test kits as well," Dr Choy said.
