DOC2US and FTAS ink MOU to provide on-demand ambulance services

KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 14): E-prescription provider DOC2US and private ambulance operator First Tejani Ambulance Services (FTAS) have inked a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to provide on-demand non-emergency ambulance services to the general public, as well as to public and private establishments.
In a statement on Monday (Sept 12), DOC2US chief executive officer and co-founder Dr Raymond Choy said that as a digital health service provider, the firm has set its sights on providing responsive, integrated and comprehensive healthcare services to the public in a more inclusive manner.
“For patients in non-life-threatening situations requiring ambulance services and healthcare facilities, our collaboration will serve to provide them with an accessible alternative to healthcare transportation services in their time of need,” he said.
FTAS director Dr Jaianand Tejani, meanwhile, said that as doctors, the parties look at patient outcomes and prioritise high-quality care for patients.
“Therefore, our nationwide services consist of a growing fleet of advanced 5G-enabled life support ambulances, which allow the capability to provide not just quality pre-hospital but also post-hospital transferring home dispatched at a moment’s notice to the public.
“With our ambulances, staff and network of private medical providers, we are driven to save lives and provide the best patient outcomes together with DOC2US,” he said.
On the other hand, Choy said users of the DOC2US platform who require ambulance services can make their first engagement through the DOC2US mobile application, where the service can be found on the homepage.
He said the patient’s situation will then be evaluated and assessed before being directed to FTAS.
